How do I import the QuickBooks file into QuickBooks?
- In QuickBooks Online, open Transactions then Bank transactions, click the account, and choose Upload from file — or in QuickBooks Desktop, File then Import then Web Connect (.qbo).
- Select the .qbo file LedgerClip produced.
- Review the imported transactions in For review, then add or match them.
The .qbo carries a stable ID per transaction, so if you import the same month twice QuickBooks recognises the duplicates and skips them instead of doubling your books.
What's in the QuickBooks file?
Each transaction becomes one row with the posting date, the description exactly as Truist printed it, the amount with the right sign, and the running balance when the statement prints one. The opening and closing balances are checked against the total, so an incomplete extraction is caught before you import. On a credit card, purchases come out as negative amounts and payments or credits as positive, and the QuickBooks export is written as a credit-card account so QuickBooks files it correctly.
Is my Truist credit card statement uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened by code running in your browser and never leaves your device — the byte counter on the converter above stays at zero the whole time. There is no account and no sign-up to convert.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the Truist statement have to be a downloaded PDF, or can I use a scan or photo?
- Both work. A statement downloaded from Truist is read from its text and is the most reliable. A scan or a phone photo is read on your device with OCR and checked so the totals reconcile.
- Is my Truist statement uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is opened by code running in your browser and never transmitted. The byte counter on the page shows zero throughout.
- What does the QuickBooks (QBO) file contain?
- An OFX/QBO credit-card file with a stable ID per transaction, which QuickBooks imports as a credit-card account.
- How many statements are free?
- Three a month, with every export format. Pro removes the limit.
