Where do I download my Chase statement?

Sign in to chase.com, open the account, choose Statements & documents, then download the month you need as PDF. Chase statements downloaded this way are text PDFs and parse directly. A scan or photo also works, read on your device with OCR. See Chase's official statement help.

How do I import the Xero file into Xero?

  1. In Xero, open Accounting then Bank accounts and select the account.
  2. Choose Manage account, then Import a statement, and pick the CSV.
  3. Confirm the Date, Amount and Description columns map to Xero’s fields, then import.

LedgerClip writes the single signed Amount column Xero expects (money out negative, money in positive), so you skip Xero’s manual column setup — just check the date format matches your Xero organisation (US M/D vs UK D/M).

What's in the Xero file?

Each transaction becomes one row with the posting date, the description exactly as Chase printed it, the amount with the right sign, and the running balance when the statement prints one. The opening and closing balances are checked against the total, so an incomplete extraction is caught before you import.

Is my Chase statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened by code running in your browser and never leaves your device — the byte counter on the converter above stays at zero the whole time. There is no account and no sign-up to convert.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Chase statement have to be a downloaded PDF, or can I use a scan or photo?
Both work. A statement downloaded from Chase online banking is read from its text and is the most reliable. A scan or a phone photo is read on your device with OCR and checked so the totals reconcile.
Is my Chase statement uploaded?
No. The file is opened by code running in your browser and never transmitted. The byte counter on the page shows zero throughout.
What does the Xero file contain?
Date, description, signed amount (deposits positive, withdrawals negative) and the running balance when the statement prints one.
How many statements are free?
Three a month, with every export format. Pro removes the limit.
