Privacy

Short version: your statement is opened by code running in your browser, the results are shown to you, and when you close the tab they are gone. LedgerClip has no server that ever sees the file.

What happens to a statement

The PDF is read from your disk into your browser's memory. The text layer is parsed there. Export files are generated there and saved by your browser. No part of the document, its text, or the extracted transactions is transmitted anywhere. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools under Network: converting a statement produces no requests.

The one request the app can make

If you activate a Pro license key, the key is sent to this site's own address to be checked, and our server confirms it with our payment provider, Gumroad. Your browser never contacts anywhere but this domain. Nothing about your statements is included. Free use makes no requests at all.

What we do not do

Local storage

Your browser keeps two small values on this device: a count of free statements used this month, and your license key if you activated one. Clear site data to remove them.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Gumroad's privacy policy covers the payment details you give them. We receive your email and license status, nothing more.

Questions go through the support form. If you share a sample page for layout support, redact account numbers first; it is deleted once the layout is added.
